This team actually played together from 1966/67 season to the end of the 1970/71 season. We were coached during this period by our two sports masters Mr. Len Constance and Mr. Dave Paley, who was a WBA Heavyweight Boxing Champion. Towards the end of the 1970/71 season, Mr. Terry Cobner joined the school staff and he became our rugby coach.From memory I recall we lost our very first game, cannot remember who it was against. However from then on, until the end of the 1970/71 season, we never lost another game against teams of our own age group winning every game.During our last season we actually started to play against teams older than ourselves, winning from what I can remember most of these games as well.

Stephen Lawrence:- I was in this school between 1981 and 1988. I remember old Mr Sheen (or `Batman`) as we all called him during assembly. Any one remember Mr. Russell, Head of Lower school? Would you believe he is now a Vicar !! We had a laugh then. Mr. Harrison was our Games Teacher, he is still there I think, although he must be due for retirement by now !!
What happened to old Mr Paley? any body know? What a teacher he was! The sound of his voice when he shouted "Get agen the wall" still strikes fear into me now!
