Holy Trinity Church

Holy Trinity is an ecclesiastical parish, formed, June 25th 1885; the church locally at Pontnewydd, is a building of stone, in the Gothic style, erected in 1860, and consisting of chancel, nave, south porch and a tower containing one bell. In 1890 the church was considerably enlarged by the addition of a handsome north aisle containing five bays, at a cost of �680: there are memorial windows to two children of the late R.Edmunds esq., JP, and to Betsy Bumford (d. Nov. 13th 1878) ; a new organ, consisting �250, was added in 1886; a carved oak pulpit was presented in 1890, by friends of the late R.Edmunds esq.

The church affords 450 sittings. The Register dates from the year 1860. The living is a perpetual curacy, net yearly value, �190, with residence, in the gift of Bishop of Llandaff, and held since 1900 by the Rev. Richard Jones, of St. Aiden`s.
