The Cwmbran Giant
Peter Nicholas, a Gower-based sculptor, said his work was a "Millennium Statement".
The Giant is carrying a young child out of the water and walking into the Town centre.
He said : " The head of the child is impressed into the main figure like a coin. They are indivisible, it is the old into the new ".

Fact File
This striking piece, which is cast in bronze, was presented to the people of Cwmbran by the Cwmbran Arts Trust.
It was unveiled by Lord Raglan, on the 18th September, 2000
The Cwmbran Giant stands 8ft 6ins. tall.
The sculpture was funded by Cwmbran Arts Trust with substantial donations from the Prudential and Asda.
