.. Oakfield Junior School - `School Trip` ..
Hugh Price contributes this photograph taken on a school trip from Oakfield Junior School where we had moved in January 1957 from St. Dial's School. The trip was to Bristol Zoo, I think in the summer of 1957. I remember that we went by train from either Cwmbran or Llantarnam station.Left to right: Gareth Cooper, Huw Jenkins, Julie Bishop (partially hidden), Peter Gifford, Carol Jones, Sandra Jones, the Headmaster Ambrose Goodwin, Suzanne Weston, Glynis Johns (?), Jane Brimble, Davina Ward.Me? Well, I took the photo with an ancient Brownie box camera that originally belonged to my mother. I still have the camera tucked away in a drawer.
