'Cwmbran 1914, troops march to embarkation', who the troops are and where in Cwmbran it was taken I have no idea. But I do know that the man and woman stood on the steps are my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother, and although he was 59 years old when the photo was taken he is also wearing a uniform, perhaps he was in the "home guard" or something similar!

Shaun McGuire (May 2009): I have set up a web site  http://www.shaunmcguire.co.uk This is a data base of the war dead of Cwmbran and District and is as yet far from complete as its based mainly on the names from the memorials in the area.

I would welcome any help in adding the missing names or filling in the details of the casualties I already have and would also welcome any photographs of the casualties or any memorabilia connected to them such photographs of medals, scrolls etc.
