At the moment I am attempting to write a biography of my Grandfather, Phil Morris, from Risca, who lived all his life in Lower Pontnewydd; your site had helped to date certain historic facts (the storm of 1931) as well as enjoying going down memory lane from the photos. I'm looking for info to do with my grandfather and his adventure [1909/10-1916] to Moscow along with about two dozen other tin plate workers from the Avondale Tin Plate Works, South Wales. There was a picture of 'the team' in the press at the time which I'd like to use. He was endowed with the title "The Iron Man of the Eastern Valley" [the title of the book]. Can anyone remember him or any of the Morris dynasty? [9 siblings / 2 children Harold and Josie (Josephine)]. I was born in the house my grandfather bought from the Conways known as Pontnewydd House and when it`s address was 4 Woodlands Road!!

Hi there,I am trying to find three of my old school friends. Jackie Dlioway who lived in Croesyceiliog, Janet Tattersal and Miriam Taylor who both lived in Llanyrafon. All three of us went to Croesyceiliog Comp, and left in 1972.All I know is that Janet married a Canadian and went to live in London, Ontario. Miriam also went to Canada. Out west I think, but I don't know what happened to Jackie. If anyone knows where they may be please let me know. I would love to catch up on old times.

My name is Anthony (Tony) McHale, aged 81. I was Chief Maintenance Engineer at G.K.N. Malleable Foundry from 1965-1968, Has anyone any memories of me at the time? Fred Brock and Albert Booth spring to mind. I used to frequent the St. Joseph`s Club at Greenmeadow .... Would love to make contact with past colleagues and friends.Updated:
A person I didn't mention when I worked with GKN Malleable foundry was a colleague named Jack Pryce, who was the Chief Electrical manager.
