A pleasant and happy scene at the Children's Boating Pool, an integral part of Llanyrafon Boating Lake, which was formerly opened by H.R.H. Princess Anne in 1971 ... sadly the Cafe and Boat Shed were destroyed by an act of arson in 2006.

Newport            View circa 1960`s Victoria Street, showing  part of the shopping centre in the old village of Cwmbran with the Mynydd Maen in the background. The Morris Minor Traveller is parked outside the Police Station and Magistrates Court. (now Cwmbran Community Council Offices). The steel corrugated `hut` is the bus stop and the `electric` clock and it's decorative wrought iron tower, commemorate the  local soldiers who lost their lives in the Great War 1914-1918.
