David Compton of Ventnor Road, Cwmbran relates: My father is in this picture. The capped player to the right of the goalkeeper. His name was Llewellyn Compton. He won this cap whilst at St Dials school. The date on the cap ( which I am still the proud owner of ) is 1931-1932.It's a Newport Schools cap. Cwmbran schools in those days were linked with Newport schools. My father was 11 years old when he won the cap. In the same team was Billy Lucas who went on to play for Swindon, Swansea Town and Newport County. He later managed Newport County. I believe this photograph was taken in Cwmbran Park in 1935.
