I cannot remember if there was a plaque available at the time but I would have loved one of those. It is funny , at the time it didnt seem so important but of course who knew that police training would change and all the centres go ?
I saw this photograph on your site of the commemorative/presentation mug and it reminded me of happy times at St. Dials. I was at the centre in 1990, now unfortunately retired on hill health. I was always quite proud of having been trained in Cwmbran and seeing the photograph of the mug, brought back happy memories. Do these mugs appear often in Wales?
I cannot remember if there was a plaque available at the time but I would love one of those too, to add to the other items from my police service, which will eventually pass to my sons. It is funny , at the time it didnt seem so important but of course who knew that police training would change and all the centres go ?
If anyone can assist me in trying to find one I would be enormously grateful.

I've just been looking through the posted images of Two Locks Nursery and was looking for information or any history of the nursery from 1953 onwards as my father (Stephen Davies) attended the nursery at this time and was hoping you may have something to share as looking for ideas for Christmas for my mother as she likes history and Two Locks is a memory for us all, my fathers Auntie was the Head Mistress there (Hazel) not sure from when, myself and my brother also went there in the 1980's, I have recently started working in the nursery as well and as its been threatened with closure; it's such a great shame and so this is why if in anyone you could help with any photos or history it would be much appreciated.

Might you be able to help?Response from Craig Jones - November 29th 2012

Hi, does anyone remember Robert (Ted) Allen. He used to live on Maendy Way, many years ago and I believe he married a Pontnewydd girl, Pat Dowden. Pat used to live on Lowlands road, just up from the old Pontnewydd `working mens club` by the Cenataph. If anyone knows of him or can give him a message to email me I would appreciate it very much.

My husband and I enjoy this site very much, and have listed it as a fav, so we can visit it any time. In the past it has helped us find a few friends from school, and I was hoping that I may be lucky again in trying to locate on of my oldest school friends.
We both went to Croesyceiliog Secondary School and were good friends right up until we left in 1971/72. I lived in Llanyrafon and my friend lived on North Road in Croesey. Her name (maiden) is Jackie Dilloway, and she had an older Brother and younger Sister.
Those who remember us will know that we were so different in appearance. Jackie was a very tall and slim girl with long blonde hair, and I was much shorter than her, not quite so slim and I also had long blonde hair. We would go to the dance on a Friday night at the school every week, and also spent many Saturday nights out together. We lost touch when Jackie went to College in Pontypool, and I went to Nash Tech College in Newport. After that we never got back together again.
Please if anyone remembers us or has any information about where Jackie may be I would love to get back in touch with her.
Thanks very much, I hope someone out there has some information.

Ive been looking at your Cwmbran.info website in an attempt to work out where a relative of mine was living in the 1911 census. The census form says that his address was Myrtle Grove, Clevedon Place, Cwmbran, but I cannot find this on any map. Im wondering whether Clevedon Place might have been close to (or perhaps the same as) the Clevedon Terrace mentioned in the 1901 Kellys Directory.
The strange thing is that the census enumerators book appears to show that he was living in Clomendy Road. Is anyone aware of a Myrtle Grove or Clevedon Place having once existed in or near Clomendy Road. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
