Twin Town

Cwmbran is twinned with the German Town of  Bruchsal , situated in charming countryside between the Black forest and the western edge of the gentle Kraichgau hill. Bruchsal`s history dates back more than 1000 years. Originally a King's court in the 10th century gave it's name to today's town.

"A lively friendly town with a magnificent  baroque palace, well groomed parks and woods, efficient retail shops in the town center and a population full of the joy of living"

The name of Bruchsal is derived from,

`Konigshof im Bruch`, which means `Royal Hall in the swampland`.
