My aim for this website is to evolve into an asset regarding  present, past or future residents of Cwmbran by including helpful information relating to Cwmbran.

.. Cwmbran Community Award 2006 ..

On Friday evening  24th November 2006, I attended an `Awards and Grants Presentation` evening held in the Henllys Suite at Cwmbran Stadium. I had been previously nominated by Mrs. A. Moore, a local resident from Upper Cwmbran,  and subsequently selected to receive a Community Award from Cwmbran Community Council.... and `folks` was I chuffed and proud !!  ..... although quite nervous and embarrassed.

The Cwmbran Community Council  `Community Awards` and `Grants` are presented annually to individuals and organisations; and for 2006 they included :-

Individuals :- Colin Davies, Tom Matthews, John Alford, Nigel Jones, Jenni Bajjic MBE, Brenda & Janet Branigan, Rita Waldron, Nadine Martin, Mary English, The Land Ladies.

Organisations :- Torfaen Traditional Music, Friends of Greater Gwent Youth Wind Symphonia, Coed Eva Junior School, Craig Hall Upper Cwmbran Pensioners Association, Cwmbran Boys Club, Greenmeadow & St. Dials Community Hall, Gwent Epilepsy group, 1st West Pontnewydd Scout Group, We Are What We Are Musical Theatre Company, Cwmbran Deaf Club, Cwmbran Historical Society, Thornhill Tenants & Residents Association, Shelter Cymru, West Pontnewydd Community Association, Ty Hafan.

For my endeavours, I was presented with an engraved glass plaque, depicting the Council's logo which I planned to show you , but have found it impossible to photograph  and the framed certificate shown below.

... As you can see folks, I look a little different from the character displayed on my Home Page ....

.. Short haircut, smart suit and fashionable tie. .. oh yeah, and a nervous smile ..
