.. This photograph shows the inside of the FAN HOUSE attached to the MINE SLOPE Adit Colliery- Upper Cwmbran

N.b. Both the Fan House and the Mine Slope buildings are now demolished.

Originally it housed a huge ventilation fan to exhaust stale air from the Adit; when the MINE SLOPE Adit closed in 1916/17, the fan was removed and relocated to the Henllys Colliery.

This Majestic `Welsh Dragon` can be viewed at the base of the newly erected (July 2005) `Store Name`, Advertisment Tower, complete with large `Winding Wheel`, (reminder of Cwmbran`s mining heritage) at the entrance to Cwmbran Retail Park (formerly known as Lockgate Retail Park) off Cwmbran Drive.
