.. An Iron `bridge spar` cast at Cwmbran Iron Works 1847 ..

Photographed on the footpath between Commercial Street and Abbey Road, Old Cwmbran

Steve Morgan :- I think it's part of one of the bridges that used to be in Old Cwmbran and has been saved because it was cast in the local G.K.N foundry. I believe that it was once on display outside the old weighbridge in Oldbury Road, just down from Cwmbran Workingmens` Club.

Congratulations !!!

Glenys Morgan:- It is a picture of Maes-gwyn farm situated between Five Locks and Sebastopol. If you walk up the canal bank from Five Locks and stand by the stile above the Long Tunnel and face the mountain, it is directly in front of you. If you take the public footpath past the farm you emerge onto Pontnewydd Golf Course.
