Liz comments:- Upper Cwmbran Methodist Church - right up the mountain!  Lovely inside. When I used to go there (Mum was a local preacher), it had the old heating system that you put logs in. It was also used to warm soup on Bonfire night. . . Them were the days!

Photographed on the canal towpath, opposite Cwmbran Retail Park, shows the Torfaen County Borough Council recently installed (May 2007) bi-lingual information board entitled `Explore Our Canal`. The pictorial board displays information on the Canal, it's wildlife and it's historical relevance . The canal section forms part of the Pontnewydd Heritage Trail, which is also depicted . Anne Moore, a committee member of Cwmbran Historical Society and myself, compiled the trail. Further `Heritage Trails within Cwmbran` have been compiled by other members of the Society and are awaiting publication.
