Cwmbran Chemical Works, off Victoria Street, Old Cwmbran circa 1920`s

Ralph relates: It is the old Cwmbran Chemical Works. When I was a boy we used to cross the railway lines at the bottom of Abbey Road to get to the `Chems` as we used to call it. A brook used to run through the `chems` and the ground used to be the colour of an Orange. I fell over one day and cut my knee, they could not stitch it up because of the acid in my knee, I still have the scar to this day!

.. Hmm, I wonder where I saw this building some time ago? ..

This photograph shows the South Wales Electricity Board Offices at General Rees Square, Town Centre.

In September of 2000 it was demolished due to the major redevelopment program of the north west corner of the shopping centre and was replaced by a `two level` car park.

Martyn relates: The picture was taken after the refurbishment of the offices in I think the 1980's.

Prior to this, the building was  plain red brick and glass.
